If you’re even a not-so-frequent traveler, you may have experienced that inconvenient moment at the baggage claim at least once. The bags for your arrived flight start flowing onto the carousel and one by one, they’re picked up by your fellow passengers. The crowd vanishes in correlation with the number of bags on the belt and soon it’s just you and a few other lefts – as the carousel grinds to a halt. You are disappointed by now realizing that your bags didn’t arrive with you. It is important to report your issue with American Airlines lost and found department, as the airline works together to make things right for you.

Let’s understand how American Airlines consider lost baggage –

  • As per  AA lost and found policy, the airline declare a bag lost between five and fourteen days after the scheduled arrival
  • Passengers’ bags that are declared lost also depend upon the flight itinerary (domestic or international), whether there are other airlines involved in the  American Airlines’ itinerary, the  American Airlines lost and found searching mechanism, and other circumstances.
  • In certain cases, the missing baggage may be subject to enforcement action by DOT, if the AA lost and found team refuses to consider baggage lost after it has been missing for a considerable period of time.

Hello, (I have no cell service where I am now) my baggage was lost at the st Martin airport after my flight from Miami to here. I filled out a claim with lost the baggage desk at the airport. The man took a description of my bag but said it had arrived and thought that “someone must have stolen it.” The bag had all my clothes and bodily necessities as well as gear for the water. My flight number was 1136 on December 13, which was a rebooked flight from 24 hours before after a flight delay from connecting flight from Richmond. The number on my bag (a green, black, and white back pack) was 8001 127 311. I’m staying on a boat which docks at Marina Fort Luis in the city of Marigot. My family and I fly back to the US on American Airlines on Saturday late afternoon. Here is telephone number for the office of the charter company +590 690 66-1973 called Moorings. Any help is appreciated.
