Fiji Airways Baggage Policy offers the checked baggage allowance in terms of piece concept with all class of service and travel route. The baggage allowance in terms of piece is more for Business Class compared to Economy Class.

Fiji Airways Checked Baggage Policy

As per Fiji Airways baggage policy, the checked baggage allowance varies for domestic and international travel. But the size and weight restriction remains the same for all travel classes and routes.

Fiji Airways Checked Baggage Weight Limit 

• Domestic travel – Must be within 15 kg (33 lbs) for Lite, Value, Comfort and Plus fare.
• International travel – Must be within 30 kg (66lbs) for Lite, Value, Comfort and Plus, Biz Value and Biz Plus fare.
• Checked baggage size  – Size must be within 158cm (62in) for domestic and international travel. 

Fiji Airways Checked Baggage Allowance 

Domestic travel – When traveling within Fiji, the baggage allowance varies for the Lite, Value, Comfort and Plus. 

International travel – Below is the overview of the checked baggage allowance for all fares under Economy and Business Class. 

Iinfants (domestic travel) – No checked bag allowed for all fares.One  stroller is permitted in the baggage hold. 

Iinfants (international travel) – 1pc up to 10kg (22 lbs) plus a stroller. No checked bag allowed for Lite fare.

Fiji Airways Carry On Baggage Policy

As per Fiji Airways baggage policy, each passenger, regardless of the class of service they booked, are allowed to carry 1 personal item and 1 carry-on bag. 

Personal item – In addition to the hand luggage, following items are permitted as personal item – 

• A pocketbook or purse,
• Blanket
• Overcoat
• A small camera
• Nappies and baby food
• 1 collapsible stroller per infant. It must not exceed the dimension of 148cm.
• A pair of crutches, and/or braces
• A Wedding Dress / Gown
• Garment Bag. It must not exceed the size of 114x60x11(185cm).
• A Duty Free Bag

Non-compliant Fiji Airways baggage fee for hand luggage – If the hand luggage exceed the aforementioned dimensions, the following fee is charged based on the travel route –

Fiji Airways Hand Baggage Carry-On Allowance 

• Economy Class (International) – 1 piece 
• Business Class  (International) – 2 pieces

Fiji Airways Hand Baggage Dimensions 

• Economy Class (Domestic & International) – Must not exceed 118 cm/46 inches (55cm X 40cm X 23cm) including handles and wheels. 
• Business Class (International) – Must not exceed 126 cm/ 50 inches (56cm X 45cm X 25cm)  including handles and wheels. 

Fiji Airways Hand Baggage Weight 

Economy and Business Class (Domestic & International)– Must be within 7 kg (15 lbs)

Infants (Economy and Business Class) (International) – 3 kg (7 lbs) for infants traveling on lap.

As per Fiji Airways baggage policy, each passenger can purchase up to 2 additional bags on top of the free baggage allowance up to 4 hours prior to scheduled departure. 

Fiji Airways extra baggage price for domestic travel (pre-paid rates) – Passengers can purchase extra baggage up to 15 kg for each bag. 

Fiji Airways extra baggage price for international travel (pre-paid rates) – Passengers need to pay the following Fiji Airways extra baggage cost (bags up to 30 kg) based on their travel route.

• Los Angeles/ San Francisco to Singapore/Hong Kong – 440 USD for each extra piece up to 30 kg.
• Los Angeles/ San Francisco to Narita – 390 USD for each extra piece up to 30 kg.
• Other US Ports to Singapore/Hong Kong – 440 USD for each extra piece up to 30 kg.
• Other US Ports to Narita – 390 USD for each extra piece up to 30 kg.

Fiji Airways oversized Baggage Fees 

As per  Fiji Airways baggage policy, baggage that exceed the size of 158cm (62in) but within 277cm (109in) in total dimension [length + width + height], and at a maximum weight of 30kg (66lbs) are subject to the additional fee based ib the following travel route.

How to Avoid Fiji Airways Baggage Fees?

Regardless of the domestic/international travel or any class of serb=vice, the airline offers some baggage allowance with the flight ticket. Fiji airways baggage cost is applied if the size of the checked bag exceed in terms of size or weight. You can avoid – 

• By carrying the checked bags that must not exceed 277cm (109in) in total dimension including handles and wheels.
• Weight must be within 30 kg (66 lbs) to avoid Fiji Airways extra baggage cost.
• Must not exceed free checked baggage allowance.
• Carry-on baggage size and weight must adhere to the Fiji Airways baggage policy to avoid last-minute hassles.

Fiji Airways Baggage Restrictions

As per Fiji airways baggage policy, the following items are not permitted as checked as well as carry-on baggage.

• Metallic objects
• Spare parts
• Umbrella
• Matches 
• Gas lighters

Note – Curves with sharp edges that have potential to use as a weapon are permitted on board but not allowed as checked luggage. 

Items not permitted in the checked luggage – These items can be carried as cargo but not permitted in the baggage hold –

Liquids, Aerosols and Gels on International flights – Liquids, Aerosols and Gels are not permitted on board if it exceeds the capacity of 3.4 fl oz or 100 ml. It must be packed in a transparent sealable plastic bag. 

Cremated Human Remains – Passengers can carry cremated human remains contained in a sealed urn. They must submit the following documents at the Fiji Airways check-in counter – 

• Funeral Home documentation
• Death Certificate
• Necessary health documentation as per the requirements from the country of origin or destination.
