The Indigo check-in process is said to be the most efficient and smooth procedure that offers multiple options to complete the said request.

Indigo Check-In Guidelines

The registration and the Indigo check-in counters for domestic flights open 2 hours before and closes 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. International check-in counters open between 3 hours and 1 hour before the scheduled departure time. Besides, the airline reserve the right to not allow the check-in without any liability – 

• If you fail to identify yourself as a passenger to the airline’s staff. 
• Travelers not carrying valid travel and identity documents such as permits, or visas required to travel to a particular destination. 
• Passengers failed to pay the airfare or any other fee or surcharges. 
• Passengers displaying violent or abusive behavior to the airline’s staff. 
• If the government restricts boarding. 
• Passengers are not fit to travel due to drunkenness or adverse medical conditions. 

Boarding – At least thirty 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, you should arrive at the boarding gate. 20 minutes prior to departure, the airline closes the boarding gate.  You will not be accepted for travel if you arrive at the boarding gate after this time.

No-show – You must arrive on time to complete the Indigo check-in and at the boarding gate no later than the time given by the airline at the time of check-in. Documents Required for Indigo Flight Check In

All entrance and exit, health, and other documentation necessary by law, regulations, order, requests, or requirements of the nations are required at the time of boarding the fight. The airline reserve the right to refuse boarding to any passenger who has not compiled with applicable laws, regulations and demands:

• Domestic routes – Adults passengers are required to produce the valid government-issued photo ID. Children under the 12 years of age shall be allowed to board and need to display the original birth certificate or identity card copy. 
• International routes – Passengers travelling on international routes must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and the applicable valid visas and permits.

Baggage Check-in at the Self-service Kiosk

Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru airports you can complete your baggage check-in by simply dropping your baggage at the Indigo self check-in kiosk. 

The only need is that you have an Indigo boarding pass that you can get on your smartphone, online, or at a check-in kiosk, as well as acceptable travel documentation.  

Checking baggage at the self-service kiosk – how it works:

• Scan your boarding pass’s barcode using the scanner at the kiosk. If you’re using a mobile boarding pass, ensure the backlight on your phone is turned on.
• Check the booking information on the screen and press ‘Check in baggage’ if everything looks correct.
• Place the baggage on the conveyor belt. The baggage tag must be printed automatically. 
• Confirm that the luggage will be removed. You can now check in the rest of your belongings.
• For your checked baggage, a receipt will be printed. Please keep this receipt until you have picked up your bags from the airport at your destination.

Add Baggage Tag Online – How It Works:

• On the airline’s website, click the ‘check-in’ tag. Enter the PNR and the booking reference in the given field. 
• Add the number of baggage against each passenger. 
• Click on the ‘Generate baggage tag’, and the bagge would be successfully added and the baggage tag has been added to your reservation. 
• Each luggage tag should be printed on thick paper and folded horizontally from the centre.
• Fold the paper again from the centre, this time making sure the bar codes are exposed.
• When you reach the airport, ask for the baggage tag holder and insert the printed tag.

Baggage Check-in at the Baggage Drop Counter

You can check in your baggage at a bag drop-off counter after receiving your boarding pass. 

Once you receive your baggage tag, this would act as a receipt for the checked bag. Keep this tag receipt until you’ve collected all of your bags at your destination airport.

Indigo Flight Boarding Pass

In just a few simple steps, you can check and download your boarding pass. To continue, enter your PNR, email address, and last name in the required fields. We recommend printing or bringing a soft copy of the document with you to the airport once it has been downloaded. To obtain the boarding pass – 

• Click on the ‘boarding pass’ button to view your digital copy. 
• You can take a screenshot of the boarding pass that showcases the QR code or save it on your mobile device. 

Once you save the boarding pass on your mobile screen, this is how you can utilise at the airport – 

Showcase the boarding pass at the following location – 

• If you are flying with the checked bag, show the e-boarding pass at the baggage counter. 
• At immigration and security checkpoints.
• At the boarding gate – scan the QR code in front of the gate reader and proceed to board the flight. 

Indigo Airline Check-In Procedure

Passengers can check in anytime as needed to comply with the deadline mentioned on your flight ticket. The time varies between the 3 hours and 45 minutes before the scheduled departure, depending upon the destination and the departure airport.

Indigo Online Check-In  

The airline allows you to complete the online check-in through the airline’s website or through the mobile app. The online check-in has the following advantages –

Indigo Web Check-In 

As per the Indigo check-in policy, it is mandatory to complete the flight check-in online for the domestic flights. You need to complete the request between 48 hours and 60 minutes for the domestic flights, and between 24 hours and 75 minutes for the international flight. Here’s how the Indigo flight online check-in works – 

• Log on to GoIndigo.in and click on the Check In section. 
• Enter the PNR and the last name  in the required field. 
• You have the option of selecting a passenger seat or checking in using an auto-assigned seat. Your boarding pass, including your auto-assigned seat(s), will be emailed to you between 12 hours and 6 hours before the flight departs.
• Now select the seat. On the next page, declare your health status. 
• The Indigo web check-in is successful. 

Indigo Mobile Check in

Just like the website check-in, the mobile app check-in works in the same way. You need to complete the request between 48 hours and 60 minutes for the domestic flights, and between 24 hours and 75 minutes for the international flight. Here’s how the check-in through the  Indigo mobile app works – 

• Launch the mobile app, and the Check-in link. 
• Enter the reservation code and the surname in the required field.
• Select the name of the passenger. 
• Now select the seat. On the next page, declare your health status. 
• Add any special request you need. Tab on the ‘Confirm’ button to generate the boarding pass. 

Indigo Auto Check-In

Indigo offers the feature to its flyers where they can automate the check-in process, so that they do not have to complete the check-in manually when the time window opens. Here’s how it works – 

• Log on to GoIndigo.in and click on the Check In tab. 
• Enter the PNR and the last name  in the required field. 
• You have the option of selecting a passenger seat 
• Read and agree about the restricted baggage items. 
• Now select the seat. On the next page, declare your health status.
• Click on the ‘Confirm’ button to generate the boarding pass. 

Indigo Self Check In Kiosk

With kiosk you can complete the check-in from 5 hours until 1 hours before the departure. The kiosk will print the boarding pass and also issue the luggage tag if you add the baggage through kosk.  All you need to do is – 

• Enter the booking reference and the last name.
• Select the preferred seat. Add meals and any special request you need. 
• Read and accept the terms and restrictions for travelling with dangerous goods and banned items.
• Generate the boarding pass.
