The unaccompanied minor service is mandatory for children between the ages of 5 and 11 on domestic flights and up to 14 years on international flights.

The passenger who is accompanying the minor must be at least 18 years of age. 

The minor travelling alone service is not mandatory for children aged between 12 and 17 years on domestic flights and 15 and 17 years on international travel.

Note – You must request the child to travel alone in advance, at which point you must give the names and phone numbers of the people who will be dropping the child off and picking him up.

Documents Required for Unaccompanied Minors Travelling with Air Europa

A child must be 5 years old to travel independently. For a youngster travelling alone, an Air Europa unaccompanied minors service must frequently be requested.

Flights within Spain

If the child holds a Spanish Passport, the Air Europa identification requirements for minors include – 

  • Passengers between 14 and 17 years old require a valid National ID or Passport.
  • Passengers under 14 years old may also carry a family record book if they do not carry a passport or National ID.
  • Air Europa unaccompanied minor form must be signed and submitted.
  • For unaccompanied minors who belong to a European Union, Schengen country and other Third countries, a valid passport and non-expired residence permit are required.

If the child holds a Spanish Passport, the Air Europa identification requirements for minors include – 

  • A valid passport and signed unaccompanied minor form.
  • Unaccompanied minors under 18 years of age are required to present an international travel permission declaration form. The form must be attested by legal parents/guardians at the time of check-in at the airport. The said form is required only for international travel. 
  • For unaccompanied minors who belong to a European Union, Schengen country and other Third countries, a valid passport and non-expired residence permit are required.

Note – To comply with the laws of the destination country, parents or guardians must visit their consulate to submit the necessary paperwork.

Step-by-Step Guide to Air Europa Minor Travelling Alone

After you book the flight for unaccompanied minors and paid the unaccompanied minor service fee, here is the step-by-step guide for the parents/legal guardians about how the service works – 


You cannot make a flight reservation for an unaccompanied minor online. Instead, you can book a service at any nearest Air Europa office, at the airport desk or through customer support. There will be a limit on how many children can fly alone on each aircraft. 

Collect Travel Documents

Photo id, passport, required vaccinations, and entrance criteria…These are the documents an unaccompanied minor will require for international travel. It is advised to check the specific documents needed to enter the country.

Fill out an unaccompanied minor form and print out one copy for submission at the airport counter at the time of check-in. This is how the Air Europa unaccompanied minors travel would be expedited. Make sure the parents carry all the appropriate documents.  

At the Airport

Unaccompanied minors are only permitted on connecting flights with a layover duration within 5 hours. In addition – 

  • A boarding pass must be picked up at the Air Europe check-in counter at the airport. 
  • A temporary boarding card will be given to the parents/legal guardian who would be accompanying the child. This allows them to go to the boarding gate with the child. 
  • Parents who are escorting the child need to wait in the airport for 20 minutes after the child is airborne.
  • For unaccompanied minors, the check-in request is not permitted online.

On Arrival
