Carry-on Baggage Allowance

Passengers are allowed to carry two-piece carry on baggage allowance on board – 

  • One piece of hand luggage 
  • One personal item

The size of the carry-on baggage must be within 23 x 40 x 55 cm and weight must be within 8 kg. The maximum dimension includes handles, wheel, and pockets. Your carry-on baggage must be fitted under the front seat or in the overhead bin. 

Personal item allowance – The size of the personal item must be within 16 x 33 x 43 cm. Examples of personal items include – 

  • Carry-on bag, roller bag, backpack, briefcase, laptop
  • Cat or small dog in its carrier
  • Airport shopping and duty-free purchases
  • Sport racquet (e.g. tennis, squash, badminton), musical instrument
  • Camera bag, diplomatic or consular bag
  • Garment bag
  • Infant-care items
  • Child-restraint devices

  • For travel that includes one or more connections or stopovers, Air Canada checked baggage delivery would take place at the final destination mentioned in the Air Canada booking confirmation.
  • For travel that includes a voluntary stopover, Air Canada checked baggage delivery would take place at the stopover point, where you can collect your bags. When you resume travel, subject to applicable charges, you may check your bags again from the new point of check-in to the destination.

Air Canada Baggage For Military

As per Air Canada baggage policy, active military personnel and their dependents receive a waiver on Air Canada baggage fees as well as on Air Canada baggage weight limit. Dependents traveling with active military personnel are exempted too, as long as they travel on the same Air Canada reservation.  In the following situations –

Air Canada baggage policy says the airlines work hard to ensure that your checked baggage arrives and delivered to you in a timely fashion. If it is delayed, rest assured, the airline will deliver it to you within 24 hours of your scheduled arrival.
