    Booked a ticket for my husband on WestJet. Due to medical conditions he will not be able to travel. Called WestJet, the lady I spoken to told me there’s no refund due to the class of ticket purchased. The funds will be credited to WestJet Rewards program. This is bullshit and a way to take people’s money. My husband will probably not be able to travel. There goes our $431 . This is what I called legalize stealing.

    We paid for cancellation insurance due to COVID restrictions being uncertain. Westjet then refunded us our amount as a credit which we can only use towards TWO flights. This is a scam. We paid for refund insurance and we should either receive a full cash refund or being able to use our credits how we would like. Westjet takes advantage of it’s customers. Awful organization.

    When we are at the airport, waiting for boarding. WestJet cancelled my flight from Palm Springs to Vancouver on Sep 20 due to mechanical problems. They rescheduled it for next day i.e., (25 sept 2022), 21 hours later. Needed to urgently arrive home on the date of the scheduled flight so was necessary to book on a different carrier.     My thought? What happens if Westjet cancels your vacation? If they schedule a flight to your destination 53 hours after your original purchased flight? Which was a 4.5 day mini vacation.Their new business model is to do with profit.Now they’re fighting Transport Canada to not pay compensation. Even cancelling my trip to fly home. Cancelled flight and gate changex2. 4 hr delay. I’ll wait to see what Transport Canada says. Btw. When your flight crew is drinking coffee and laughing in the flight lounge without any luggage, they know days in advance which flights are cancelled. The gig is up.

    TRAVELLER BEWARE! Econoflex tickets do not mean you get a cash refund if you cancel your flight, it only means you get a credit in your travel bank which has to be used within the year. For us older people with new medical conditions this is highly unlikely. Shame on Westjet – it is false advertising..
