Aeromexico Name Correction Policy

Guidelines for Aeromexico Name Correction

As per the Aeromexico name correction policy, only 1 name correction of 4 characters or less can be applied to the first name/middle name/last name. The name correction request is subject to the change fee, and must meet the following criteria – 

• When the passenger’s first name or last name is missing, and the letter is wrong in any of the names. 
• Correcting Gender and Date of Birth are not considered under Aeromexico change name on ticket request. 
• When any passenger’s first name, middle name or last name requires a space correction or has no more than 4 incorrect characters.
•  When passenger’s first and last names are reversed. 

Passenger can request the name correction through the airline’s website and must met the following criteria – 

• The flight must be operated and marketed by Aeromexico. Any flight segments must not be operated by the interline or codeshare network partners. 
• Purchased in US Dollars. Reservations purchased in other currencies except Mexican Pesos are not considered for name correction.
• The flight booking must be purchased through the debit/credit card.
• The reservation must be purchased through the Aeromexico.com, Aeromexico travel stores, or through the Aeromexico global call centre.
• Flights must be purchased up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure. 
• The booking must include flight segments that are unused/unflown.
• Aeromexico reservation includes no more than 9 passengers.
• Name correction is not applicable for the unaccompanied minors, or any reservations that include discounted and promotional fare.

Aeromexico Change Name on Ticket Rules

As per the Aeromexico name correction guidelines, you can rectify or omit up to 3 characters in the first name or last name. The characters limit shall not be misunderstood as the three characters each for the first anime, middle name and last name. In addition – 

• Passengers can submit the Aeromexico name correction/change up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure. No name changes are allowed after the scheduled departure.

• Passengers need to ensure that the name on the ticket must match with the name on the official photo ID or passport.

• Once you have taken the outbound flight, you cannot change or correct the passenger’s name. 
• You cannot change or correct the name if the reservation you have purchase include a flight segment operated by codeshare or interline.

Aeromexico Name Change Requests

The airlines will consider the following scenarios under the Aeromexico name change policy provided that the flight ticket must be within validity – 

Maiden name to married name and vice-versa – Before updating your flight ticket , you’ll need an actual copy of your official name change document. In addition – 

• A marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order is what this refers to. 
• Call the Aeromexico airlines at to process the name change. 
• An additional name change fee and any applicable fare difference will apply according to the Aeromexico name change policy

Typing error within name – If your name contains one or two incorrect letters, you should be able to board your aircraft without difficulty. In addition – 

• When an airline considers a misspelling is unintentional, they are more likely to sympathise rather than penalise. Especially if you can explain how it happened.  
• In the vast majority of cases, Aeromexico will allow you to continue your journey without having to purchase a new ticket.

Typing error within the title/first name/middle name – You will not be barred from boarding the flight if –

• Your first name has 1 incorrect character

• Your first name and the middle name are put together in the first name field.

Inverted name (e.g change name Smith John to John Smith) – If your first and last name have been exchanged, the airlines will correct it without any hesitation. However, an Aeromexico name change fee would be charged. In addition – 

• The said request must be made up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure.
• The airline will correct the name in the PNR.

Name changes cannot be requested online as you need to talk to the Aeromexico flight representative. However, if you want to correct the name, it can be requested online. 

Method 1: Aeromexico Name Change Online

Passengers can request the name correction through the Manage Booking section. After you update the name, you will be required to pay the name correction fee, and any applicable fare difference. Follow these steps to correct the name through the airline’s website – 

• Go to aeromexico.com, and select the option My Booking.
• Enter the reservation number and the passenger’s last name to retrieve the booking.
• Once you have logged in to the flight summary page, select the passenger, and click on the ‘Correct name’ tab. 
• Type in the correct name in the required field. 
• Check the overall summary of the changes, which includes the total amount to be paid.
• Complete the payment process and confirm the changes. 
• You will receive a confirmation of the updated name on the booking confirmation and the e-tickets. 

Method 2: Aeromexico Name Change via Phone

Call the Aeromexico airlines customer service number to process the name change. An additional name change fee and any applicable fare difference will apply. You need to present the supporting documentation, such as marriage certificate, legal affidavit, etc to prove you are the same passenger.
