Covid-19 has been troubling us since a few months ago. This pandemic affected the travel segment the most, especially those who booked their ticket with an airline. And now due to COVID-19, each airline is helpless to send notifications to the passengers about their updated flight change policy.

Considering the situation, most of the travelers must have attempted to cancel or reschedule the flight tickets. Although most of the international and domestic airlines are providing rescheduling options and waiving off rescheduling fees as well. Lufthansa Airlines

If you have booked your ticket with Lufthansa Airlines then you should have a look at the Lufthansa flight change policy.

Those who have already booked their tickets with Lufthansa can rebook the flight tickets. Lufthansa Airlines will not ask for the rescheduling fees if you are making changes before 31st August 2020. Passengers who are planning to travel with a new itinerary before 30th December 2020 will earn 50€ as a discount. However, Lufthansa Airlines did not mention how they are going to handle the award redemptions.

Those passengers who are planning to purchase tickets before 30th June can change the itinerary without any kind of fee. These changes can be made by 31st August 2020. The new departure will occur before 31st January 2021. Passengers who are traveling with a new itinerary before 31st December 2021 will get 50€ as a discount.

Emirates Airlines

Were you excited to fly with Emirates? Kindly look for the Emirates flight change policy and reschedule your tickets.

Passengers who were supposed to fly before 30th November 2020 can cancel their tickets or change the tickets without paying any fee only if you meet any of the following reasons.

• The ticket was canceled by the Emirates Airlines.
• Travel was banned.
• Change in the Visa process or the passenger was unable to reach the airport.
• Government travel advisory.

Those travelers who delay or cancel the ticket will get the voucher for the value of purchased flight tickets. The validity of this voucher would be 24 months from the original booking date. The validity can also be extended in case you are unable to travel within 24 months. With the existing booking, Emirates Airlines is offering free vouchers for the passengers who purchase tickets before 31st July 2020. It also contains a departure date before 30th November 2020.

Aeromexico Airlines

Like every other airline, Aeromexico flight change policy also states that if you have booked your ticket with Aeromexico airlines, you can then cancel or rebook the tickets without paying any fee. On ticket cancellation, you may get the voucher for the same value of your flight tickets. If the airline cancels your tickets, the travelers are eligible for the cash refund.

United Airlines

If you have purchased your ticket with United Airlines, you can cancel or rebook it with no fee. To know more, look for the United flight change policy discussed below. Passengers can cancel or rebook the itineraries without paying any fee. Those who prefer to cancel the tickets will get a travel credit with the validity of 24 months. In a scenario where the airline cancels your ticket and passengers are unable to rebook to a new itinerary, these passengers can request a full refund to the credit card.

Those travelers who booked their tickets through 31st July 2020 can cancel the ticket or change the itinerary with no fee until the new travel begins within the 24 months from the original date of the ticket issued. In case you are planning to travel between June to Dec then you can cancel or change the itineraries with no fee or for a travel credit with 24 months validity. These changes can be made by the 31st of July. Those who prefer to cancel the ticket will get 24-month credit for their future travel. In case the airline cancels your ticket and you are unable to rebook to a new itinerary can request a full refund to the credit card.

Besides, United Airlines is waiving off the mile redeposit fee for the canceled award tickets covered by waivers. If we consider the future travel, any ticket bought through 31st July can be changed or canceled with no fee. However, the passenger will not get a refund. If travelers rebook the flight then they may have to pay different fare depending on the price of the original and the new ticket price.

British Airways

Those who have already booked a ticket after 3rd March and with their itinerary set to depart before 31st December 2020 can now change the itinerary with no fee. Furthermore, travelers can cancel the tickets and get the voucher for the same value of their ticket. The validity of this voucher will be valid for 30th April 2022. In case, the airline itself cancels the ticket then you are eligible for the refund to the original mode of payment.

For the canceled Award tickets, one can receive the voucher that can be used to purchase another reward flight later. However, the airline can put additional Avios, fees, taxes between the current booking, and the new booking. Tickets that have been purchased before 31st July and departure was set before 31st December 2020 can be changed or canceled. Travelers who cancel their tickets will get the voucher with the validity of 30th April 2022.

Delta Airlines

If you have tickets booked with Delta Airlines then you can cancel or rebook the itineraries with no fee. Here is the Delta flight change policy to booked tickets, award tickets, and future travel.

Passengers who booked tickets before 17th April and were supposed to travel within 30th September 2020 can rebook or cancel their itineraries without any fee. If you are not sure about the travel then you can receive the voucher for the same value of your ticket. The validity of the voucher will be 30th September 2022. The validity of an existing voucher can also be extended. In case the airline cancels the tickets, you can ask for a cash refund. The airline will waive the fare differences for making changes to the travel between the month of March and September 2020 (if the flight ticket was acquired before 17th April).

For Award tickets, Delta Airlines is waiving the mile redeposit fees if qualities the noted change waivers. If we talk about Future travel, the tickets that were bought before 31st July 2020 can be changed or canceled with no fee. Travelers can also get a cash refund. However, if you rebook the tickets, you might need to pay a different amount depending on the current price of a new ticket.

Flight Change Due to COVID-19

During this crisis time, airlines are not committed to repaying travelers, hence, most of the airlines have set up the flight change policy in which they offer a travel voucher or a cash refund for the purchased tickets. Travelers should receive a travel voucher only if they are planning to travel with the airline in the future. The value of the voucher would be the same as your purchased tickets. Moreover, it has the validity of 24 months. If you are unable to travel within 24 months from the date of the issued voucher then you can extend the validity of the voucher as well.

In case, you are not sure if you would travel with this airline in the future then you should go with the cash refund. Besides that, if the airline cancels your tickets from their side, the passengers are already eligible to get a cash refund directly to the original payment mode.
